Help With Peavey Cab

Hello, I have recently acquired a Peavey 2x15 bass cab, and know not much about it. Can anyone help me determine wattage, year, etc..? Thanks

That could be mid 70's. I used to have an old Peavey series 400 head that was usually paired with the 2x15 cab. Even though I never owned the cab. I did once play a gig using another bassists rig, which consisted of the 400 head and this cab. I when I opened my head to clean it, I remember seeing a date of 1974 on the board.

Those are the old square magnet speakers from before they made black widows.

They had pretty nice tone but couldn't take a lot of power.

I'd call it a 200 watt cab, but it'll start distorting in the lows with about 100 watts. More or less depending on if you turn your bass knob up or down.

The deep version is something like 14" deep from front to back. It would also say "215D" on it.

Take off the grill and check to see what speakers are in there. I picked one of those cabs up a year or so ago for $115 at Guitar Center. Just last weekend I was cleaning it and discovered it has Peavey Black Widow speakers instead of the square-backed ones.

I'm planning a project to rehouse my speakers into separate 1x15" cabs.
