Double Bass Help with rig volume

I love mine paired with my 500 watt AI Clarus 2R Series 4. It’s loud and I love the omnidirectional nature of the speakers.

I’m just concerned about the volume on a stage with 2 horns, drums, guitar. The gig happens about 5/6 times a month. Both audience and band mates often ask me to turn up, so I’m hoping the power and the “omnidirectional nature” do the trick.
Gollihur offers a 14 day return so I think I’m going to give it a try.

Probably great - but you won't know until you try it. I'd roll with another razor's edge 10" because I prefer how they sound compared to the Acoustic Image speakers, but you might love the way the Acoustic Image stuff sounds. I have a feeling 2 of the razor's edge speakers would give you more volume.

Give it a shot. I have never played with horns, but the rig I have hangs with a loud, Fender Twin Reverb playing, Gretsch wielding guitarist/vocalist and a loud drummer; and I mean Bonzo type loud drummer. I find elevating it works best for outdoor gigs and it’s better on the floor for indoor gigs.

The obvious weak link is the 110 cab. It sounds great in other low volume situations.
Would a 112 help? A lot? If so, brands to consider?

I have a 250W Mark Bass amp and GR bass 110 cabinet. I play with a community "big band" with a dozen horns and I'm easily loud enough. The cab is 4 ohm, as others have mentioned.

Is it possible that this could be an eq issue rather than volume per se? If several instruments are occupying the same “eq space” as you, your sound might not be cutting through well enough and thus could be perceived as “not loud enough.” Sometimes a slight midrange boost can correct this without necessarily increasing the volume. Just a thought!

If was already mentioned i apologize, but just one thing to try is getting the speaker cab off the ground if you are not already. Try placing it on a chair or purchase an amp stand.

Jesus, how loud are you playing? I used the Woods LoPower (125 watts) for outdoor gigs with a quartet for years.

I've been playing with some loud drummers lately and own a doubleshot. IMO the DS is about the output of a decent 1x12 but the sound spreads instead of punches forward due to the side firing speakers. I've been bringing a 1x12 cab instead to get that forward punch in those situations. I do love the DS though, it's a great sounding cab and about half the size and weight of the 1x12.
