pick a song with an obviously audible bass part (lots of Nirvana's songs, Green Day's "Longview", etc.) and listen to the bass part, usually during the verse. play wut u think the tab wants u to play during the verse and see if it sounds like the album. if not, look at what u might be doing wrong and think it over. i learned by listening to "Longview", although the tabs were really wrong, it sounded close enough that i understood what i did wrong. hope u enjoy playing ur bass. i have a fender (my first bass), but there was a very similar squire model. good luck
