I played a cheap $100 Bacchus at bar. I thought for the price it was a really nice bass . The setup on it was really nice with low action and no buzz. Sounded alright too. The Japanese made ones are really nice, but expensive.
Yeah the chinese ones are about 240 new. The bar master got his used for 100. I've seen the Japanese ones here for around $2000.
I'm sure you can find it cheaper, but even at 240, it's worth the money.
Get an SX and call it a day. Use the extra money to buy an amp. And a keyboard with a proper Caps Lock key.
