Hendriksen 312 Inquiry

I cannot find much on the net regarding the Hendriksen 312 and would really appreciate some first-hand reviews.

Primarily, I'm looking for a top quality grab & go amp for small rooms that will cover both my J and PJ basses as well as my Gibson L-5 and ES-335 jazz guitars.
Price-point aside, it appears to be just what I need.

I wouldn't even bother. I have a lot of boutique gear, and that particular piece makes zero sense to me.

I dont, because what I want in small form factor bass and guitar amplification is vastly different. To me, I would rather not compromise everything for form factor. At the heart of it, that combo wouldn't cut it for me for bass in any setting but home practice. That alone cuts out the combo you linked.

All bickering aside, perhaps it's worth pointing out that this combo is claimed to sound sweet with jazz guitar (normal and seven-string), like the old Polytones. Depending on your tone goals with guitar, you might be just as well-served, and less expensively so, with a random, non-boutique bass combo or micro head+ cab equipped with a tweeter. You may want to go out and try some first.

$1200 for a 100 watt 12" combo is an immediate fail for me.
I did use a Mesa Walkabout 12" combo for some many years, that was nearly that price point, but, it had a better feature set and was 300 watts at 4 ohms, and 500 at 2 ohms.

If you dig it tho, go get that and enjoy.

Well, I guess the bottom line here is (speculations aside) that no one has tried one.
So, I'll see if I can check one out then I'll have the first hand knowledge i was looking for.

I have no experience with the amp in question. But if I were looking for some kind of dual purpose amp such as this, the direction I would go in is to look at bass and keyboard combos. In particular Carvin MB combos and Roland KC Keyboard combos.
The Carvin line has a 210 version that looks like it would do the job well for a fraction of the cost. Also Roland keyboard combos are well regarded and are designed to cover a wide frequency range and be robust enough for the low end of a Synth/keys rig. I have actually seen a couple of bass players use them (the 15" version) in low/med vol. situations, coffee house type settings. Or look for an old Polytone mini brute.
To spend that kind of money on a multipurpose amp is silly to me. When you could buy BOTH a good jazz guitar amp and bass amp for the same or less. I understand only having to carry one unit but I think the original idea is a waste of good money. But hey it's your money, knock yourself out!
