Anyone have experience with or heard of someone using this for bass? I realize it wouldn't work for anything but quiet gigs. I've seen the 12" version but I'm looking for something super portable.

I saw that post. Just wondering if anyone has acutally tried it. I'm sure Henriksen knows what he's talking about but he might just want to make sure no one is disappointed. Maybe wishful thinking on my part but if one were to use it knowing what to expect... On the other hand if it just absolutely can't handle any low end whatsoever that would be nice to know too.

If you play a bass through the JazzAmp 10, you'll probably be disappointed as there just isn't enough power in it to carry frequencies that low.

I declined to sell Adrian a 10 after some emails were exchanged because I had a good idea of what he wanted and knew that our little guitar amp wouldn't deliver. I didn't want to make him pay for shipping on a product I knew he wasn't going to like.

Our new 10" cabinets are being released as part of our Convertible series - Invalid Link Removed

I don't want to spam this board with a bunch of information, but am happy to answer any specific questions about our products. Until now I thought it was better to stay off of these boards, but after a conversation with Roger Sadowsky he convinced me that people actually appreciate being able to communicate with manufacturers.

Thanks,
Peter Henriksen

Welcome to talkbass and thanks for the info. I think you will find that TBer's really appreciate it when manufacturers take the time to answer questions here.

That ER cabinet has the same problem with a bass as the 10" combo, it's designed for guitar and starts to fart out at the open G on a DB.

Trust me, we tried every speaker and stuffing combination under the sun to get that little 12.5" x 12.5" x 8.5" cabinet to work for bass, but it just wasn't happening. The slightly larger bass cabinet with the DeltaLite II speaker is the best we could do without losing the sound we were going for.

I hear you. Actually I didn't even notice the bass cabinet further down the page. The specs are very similar and it also looks very interesting for all the same reasons. The specs of the 12" cab don't appeal to me especially when you have cabs like the Wizzy 10 and Epifani 110 already existing. However the 10 bass looks like a competitor for certain.

A great question, and the short answer is that it just doesn't need it. The cabinet is very punchy and carries all of the sweetness of the bass on both ends of the spectrum, and other than adding cost and weight the tweeter didn't really accomplish anything.

I've learned to "never say never" with our products, but while there's no technical reason we can't put a tweeter in that cabinet, it just doesn't make it sound better for jazz (our primary focus) and we don't have any plans to put one in at this time.

Of course, I say all of this on the assumption that the cabs will be used with our amplifiers. I can't really tell you what they're going to sound like with a different head, but I'm sure after they're released there will be plenty of reviews and comparisons.
