Hi everybody, as u can guess, I'm a new member and not an old bassist...it depends if u consider my age, 63, or the years spent playing bass, 3 now.
As an old-timer, I have the luxury of following my crushes on bass guitars.
So, I started with my wife's old Washburn Bantam from the 80s; she was my bassist in a punk new wave band at the time, and I was a guitarist and singer.
After I bought a really nice Sire Marcus Miller 5-string, then a Dingwall 5-string made in Asia and lately, very lately, I fell in love with a Sadowsky.
Happily, I'm more faithful with my wife than with my bass guitars!
I also got lately a Darkglass Anagram, which is awful, and I play on a Markbass MiniMark, which is awesome—also small, light, but powerful.
I'm playing with other old timers, guys I met in high school back then, especially one who is a professional, and it's a wonderful experience to play with him.
He's got an incredible knowledge of music, and he's a very good guitarist and bassist. Thanks, Alain, my old buddy.
So here I am with you guys. I'm here for sharing tips and knowledge, especially yours, as mine is limited.
Thanks for your welcome.
I forgot to say that I'm French and particularly BRETON from Brittany, so not fully French.......u know Asterix and Obelix ? That's US
