Hero Basses

This is a FANTASTIC idea for a thread....especially since some of the younger folk might not realize that if your bass looks just like that of your HERO, your playing will sound just like his as well 
I've played 35 years. I can play everything on "Heaven & Hell" but he's got a technique from years of playing that "digs" way harder than I can on this bass, and it has been played by the master. He's a great player. We all know that. I can't compare on this bass, but it damn sure sounds great. I don't want to change the strings. Is there another thread for people who have basses like this where you save the strings?
I could be wrong, but I reckon there might be a few Geddy Lee posts on this thread!

If it looks like your "Hero's" bass, that's all that matters. Tell us who he is and how proud you are to own it!!!! What you had to do to acquire it! If it's actually your hero's bass, then that makes the story better. Later, I'll talk about the bass I bought from M5Yates, that Jaco actually played. That's the idea of this thread!
Signatures aren't the point. Let everyone see your bass that looks just like that of your Hero's bass! Doesn't matter if it's the actual bass owned by Him/Her!!!! However, if it is.............tell the story!
In fact signatures are NOT the point. Anyone can acquire a signed bass that really has nothing to do w/the HERO!!!! We're talking.....or I'm talking......basses that look just like one of your HERO's basses!

Doesn't have to look just like it. The pic of your HERO inspired the aquisition of YOUR bass. It doesn't have to be exact. YOUR bass channels the HERO bass pic!!!!!
Reminds me of a certain Thin Lizzy bassists' black P on their last live performance video, now on DVD.
