...And while we're on the subject, what's up with complete strangers walking up and asking to sit in with a band. Man, I could never do that. It's different if there's a musician/band in the audience that you know. If you need to set in with bands you don't even know, it's time for your to serious consider why you're not in a band of your own.

Absolutely! Last night we had a guy wanted to drum for us. We've always said no but to my amazement our drummer allowed him near his prized '62 Lugwig kit ( a la Ringo).

He reckoned he was a professional drummer - as if :rolleyes:

Anyway he made a fool of himself, but still came back for more, knocking stuff over as he clambered on stage. This time the answer was NO

I reckon the best policy is always to say NO! Some gear you can forget - but not your bass or amp surely?! We lost all our extension leads once loaning them to the next band on and it's left me emotionally scarred! :)
