Hi Beam feel with warmer tone

Both the Lowrider and the Fodera are a hexcore strings and feel really stiff compared to Highbeams.
I really did not get along with Fodera strings they were so stiff.

The Fodera SS, at least, are round core.

For page 3: I don’t usually like sunbeams but might give them a shot. I don’t really find them to be similar in feel to hi beams but what do I know

I actually think the dunlop SBNs feel more like high beams than sunbeams do, but both are close. Sunbeams have more upper mid complexity, dunlops have growly lows and low mids and that soft and responsive feel I love about hi beams. Sunbeams are slightly stiffer feeling.

cool video, it does a pretty good job of comparing their nickel vs steel strings. On a J type sound. Fodera really is an impressive entity. I'll be curious to try the incoming Fodera 6 string SS set. A little nervous about the .34 C string, but the other option (.28) I know is too floppy for my right hand on a 33" bass. Hopefully this set has that big round-wound crunch without the clank.

That's a cool video. It also supports what I've heard others say, that their nickels sound brighter than their SS. Weird.

I used to use Ken Smith Burners NPS exclusively. Great strings. Nickel coated steel.

Ken Smith are nice, I believe they are made by GHS, but they always died too fast for me, the Foderas lasted a heck of a lot longer!
And they are made by Fodera!
