Hello, Brothers of the Bottom. I've been a reader here for a few weeks and, well... here I am. I hope to make a few friends, learn a whole lot and maybe even contribute something worthwhile.
A bit about myself (I think it was suggested I do this?). I fell in love with the sound of bass by listening to much Motown growing up, then at about age 12-13, discovering the music of acts such as Cream, Hendrix, the Stones, and of course the Beatles. But what put the spell on me to actually want to play the bass was seeing Zeppelin on their 1st visit to the Spectrum in Philly... 45 or so years sure can fly by!!
Enough of that... anyway, the spell to play wore off when girls seemed like much more fun and, that quick, my "career" was over. Almost 30 years later, mid-90's the bug returned and I bought a nice Fender P and started learning enough to jam with some friends - which lasted for an entire summer - but this time my business consumed me and back into the closet went the bass.
To make a long story even longer, I have plenty of free time now, so I've pulled the bass out of storage for keeps and found my way over to this forum - apparently to bore anyone still reading to death. But to those who are... thanks for listening and giving me a chance to become a part of this community and forum. It's really great to finally be here, literally and figuratively.
