What's the whole deal with you guys not wanting to buy anything from Monster again?
Because they are over priced, snake oil infused, marketing scam of a cable IMO/E. Everyone is better off getting some quality cabling and connectors and make their own... or if bulk wire isn't something you want to hold onto, hire http://procablesnsound.com/ or the like to build REAL quality cables.

Because wires, beyond a certain point, make no difference whatsoever, but it's been made into a multi gajillion dollar industry. It's the emperor's new clothes, and I'm sick of watching people waste their hard earned money on it.
I didn't ruin my jack but I ruined someones $100 monster cable when extracting it from my jack. Way tight. Would'nt buy one after that.
+1. Best cable around for the money, and great customer service, too. No point in spending any more.
I'm as much of a tweaker as you will find, and a home theater addict, and I can honestly say that I'm done spending big $$ on cables. I've tried lots of them, and am convinced that for all forseeable applications, they just don't make a lick of difference, provided they are of decent quality/reliability.
Pretty much every electrical engineer I've spoken to (including my wife, Ph. D. in EE from Stanford) agrees.
And yes, Monster cables have a bad reputation for destroying jacks. One company I know of will not honor their warranty if Monster cables are used, as they are just too hard on input jacks.
I did for a while. If you actually gig those things, they pick up dirt and bar stink fast.
My tip si KLOTZ LA GRANGE - Low Capacitance Guitar Cable - GY107, my EQ was 14h on bass pot now is 12h!...more dynamic, more bass, better highs, fater tone...somebody say better than monster cables
+1 on Klotz coupled with Neutrik plugs. Sommer Spirit sounds as good, but it is microphonic on high gain applications.

I bought a 6m Cordial Cable with metal (!) Neutrik Gold Plated Plugs, and it's hard as a rock. I'm quite satisfied with it, I dunno if I'll buy a better one. But maybe, someday, a Klotz TM Stevens, who knows?

wow...Wimpy, you can read my mind, your cable looks almost identical to mine...
...I never was cabel freak, but guitar player I play with opened my eyes. One more thing can also changed sound, cable has to be 5-6 long, not shorter, maybe gold neutriks also help...I'm hapy with my 3m cable too, but longer cable has fater sound...interesting isn't it?
All other things equal, a longer cable rolls off the higher frequencies more than lower frequencies. This must be where your "fater" sound comes from.

I won't buy anything other than Bayou anymore. He's a TB'er, a great guy, and uses nothing but high quality cable and connectors.
You people that are blinded by the marketing CRAP of Monster (and other "high end" cable companies) should be ashamed of yourselves.
I've heard a lot about Bayou cables here on talkbass. I currently need a small variety of cables and I figured I'd give Butch a try. As a test run I ordered one 18" Speakon-to-Speakon cable. I ordered it on 2/26 and I still don't have it. I realize he's a one man show, but a one-month wait for a speaker cable pretty much wipes out the price difference for me.
There's also the fact my credit card was charged right away, but that's another issue.
I am surprised to hear this. I made an order with a few different cable types and got it in under a week. Have you emailed or called him about your late order?
Yes, more than once. He said he was working 7 days a week trying to catch up. The latest update (from Friday) was that he hoped to get to my order by Sunday.
