I've heard a lot about Bayou cables here on talkbass. I currently need a small variety of cables and I figured I'd give Butch a try. As a test run I ordered one 18" Speakon-to-Speakon cable. I ordered it on 2/26 and I still don't have it. I realize he's a one man show, but a one-month wait for a speaker cable pretty much wipes out the price difference for me.

There's also the fact my credit card was charged right away, but that's another issue.

BUMPing this up, I have the occasion to buy a Monster Bass Cable...
The other cables mentioned here are very hard to get for me ( I live in Romania ), and a bass hero of mine recently recommended me a Monster Bass Cable.
So, is it OK to buy a 50$ Monster Bass Cable?

I still prefer Klotz or Sommer to Monster. You can get Sommer from Thomann in DE & Klotz from Studio Spares in UK, they will ship anywhere in Europe. I've done some business with them in the past and their service are great & their prices are right.

Sure it's okay. It's a colossal waste of money, IMO, but it's okay. Go with Bayou, dude. Almost everyone here swears by 'em, and HE doesn't rip you off.

Bayou is amazingly good. I also use Klotz and Venom Gold cables.

(only problem with Bayou is you cant just go into a shop if you need them pronto!)

What's the whole deal with you guys not wanting to buy anything from Monster again?

Because the only cables that have broke on me in the last 5 years.
Have been Monster cables.

Regardless of price.
