High on Fire / Jeff Matz

OK, so an Ashdown Lomenzo distortion, a Line6 delay, a Morley ABY, and two Boss pedals--I'm guessing a TU-2 and a DS-1?

yup the DS-1 stayed on for the entire time I had the close up view (3/4th of the show)and during one song he would click the hyperdrive and the AandB switch on the ABY so that the hyperdrive was bypassed and one of the amps was muted. That's the reason for the sideways flip of the Ashdown and Morley. Thank you for the heads up on the Hyperdrive I didnt see a post but i sent him a message.

The Black Cat's main stage is on the second floor maybe laziness or equipment malfunction necessitated his odd speaker choice that evening. I have only seen him standing by Emperor 415's in ads has anyone witnessed this live?

The gut shots are a thing of beauty. That's going on my GAS list of the future.

I reckon I'm going to regret not being able to afford the last Klipp that sold (for €400) near here for a long time.

Any ideas on how to get one of these?

I contacted Faustone via their myspace page and asked about the Valve Klipper. They told me the price is 375 euros plus delivery with about a 6 week wait time.

Anyway, when I saw High on Fire, Jeff was using the same setup as Sonny described. Two SWR looking 4x10's and a Marshall cab, if I remember right. I'd love to see Jeff using Emperor, but hey, it's what he wants.

I love the fact that Jeff uses a 12 string for certain songs. I've always had the idea that a 12 string bass would sound great in sludge/doom and Jeff confirmed this.

Anyone hear heard the new High on Fire, "Snakes for the Divine"? Jeff Matz's bass tone is MASSIVE. Anyone got ideas about his setup live or in the studio?

Also, has anyone seen them live?

Great songs on that album. I love the band but this one sounds a tad too produced. A little too digital maybe? Great bass licks though. Gonna see them next week in Brooklyn. Will more than likely park myself right in front of Jeff's rig for the whole of the show. Or for at least as long as I feel like being crushed against the stage. I'll try to snap a pic if I can.

Saw them this past year at the Southgate house in Covington. Jeff's tone was awesome, very thick and sat great in the mix. High on Fire is one of my fave bands, I have seen them live twice and it's amazing how heavy and full they sound for being a three piece. I got to talk to Jeff for a bit after the show. He was really cool, but I should have asked him about his rig.

I'm a little confused what you're saying. The DS-1 was on the entire time, and on one song he...bypassed the hyperdrive? So does he normally have the hyperdrive on? I'm confused
