High Pass Filter with active Pickups

Hey guys. I have a schecter stiletto 5 that I just recently outfitted with EMG 40dc pickups and I'm trying to wire it with two volumes, a passive low pass filter and a passive high pass filter. The low pass works fine, but I can't seem to get this high pass to work right. I'm using 25k pots for the volumes and low pass and I've tried a 25k, a 100k, and a 500k with all sorts of cap values. I think a 500k with .00068uf seems to have the most effect but I'm just wondering if I'm approaching it wrong. The reason why I'm going passive is because the active preamps that I've put in (the EMG BTS and also the STD) were noisier than hell, and passive seems the quietest. Anyone have an idea of what to do? I appreciate the help
