High Quality XLR Cables

Hi TB!

I found this quote from our very own venerable stallion in a thread from the past.

Standard pro level cable in the pro audio industry is Belden 8412 type (there are equiv's.) with either Switchcraft or Neutrik connectors. I have several hundreds of these and I typically get between 20-30 years under pretty high level uses. Every ~15-20 years we do a rebuild/retermination of the ends, replacing connectors that are road worn and cutting back ~6" of the end where the woven braided shield may have become fatgued.

I want to get into making my own cables but immediately am in need of buying some. What brands represent the specs in this quote?

Thanks for the replies. My friend gave me a couple cables to hold me over while I teach myself how to fix these old broken cables. Then I'll move on to getting the correct wire and connectors.

It seems like the right move for me now.
