Double Bass High-Shutter Speed String Clip

Hey all, I'm from the horizontal side of the forum but I thought this may be of interest over here. I don't know how much of this is just an exaggeration on part of the camera (don't really know much about that type of stuff), but have a look if you want, "upright bass strings captured with a high shutter speed video camera will leave you mesmerized."

That post has been around before, and I remember someone saying it was "Fake" or had to do with the lighting on the strings, and that they don't actually look like that. I'll go digging for answers shortly...

Yes, just slowed down, you couldn't see that, but with a digital camera, you get this appearance. Look up "rolling shutter effect". Even with the lowest frequency standing wave you wouldn't see this effect. A strobe will show something similar.
