Double Bass Higher output - Rev II or Bassmax?

In the constant search for the right pu, I've tried the Rev I but went back to the Bassmax due to its significantly higher output. The Rev did have better feedback resistance though, and maybe better balance across the spectrum. Does the Rev II approach the Bassmax in terms of output?

The BassMax has an higher output than the Rev II to me, but i'ts also easier to feedback.

There's not much "hotter" than a BassMax but, IMO, that large output comes at a price. In my experience, the Rev. Solo is head and shoulders above the BassMax in terms of its sonic characteristics. The Rev. II has substantially more output than the Rev. I, is less particular about the input impedance into which it "looks," and retains a fine sound that is, for all intents and purposes, the same as that of the Rev I.

I am not sure about the relative output levels of these pickups. But unless you are close to the limits of your system, I reckon a twist of a knob could make them "equal" ??

My experience w/ feedback is a little different. I actually don't ever recall having feedback problems w/ my BassMax. But I do sometimes w/ the Rev Solo. Seems to depend the most on the fit of the pickup (which I still futz with) and the room. I do mute the afterlengths of my strings now, but never did w/ the BassMax.
