now my next bass will probably be one of these. i have played a geddy before so i know what it is like. i have never played a highway one tho. can someone explain to me how the two compare and how the highway one compares to the standard MIA jazz bass.

I like the Highway One over the Geddy, but since the Highways are $900, I'd recommend a G&L L2000 for $1000 off of Music123 (Or getting one used, of course). Actually, used would be nice because G&L's are worthless once outside of the manufacturer's gate and into the hands of a player.

highway one. but its a personal preference. i dont like the glossiness of hte geddy (makes your hand stick when you sweat). the neck is also too thin in my opinion. but again...alot of peopel out there like scrawny sticky feel. geddy is overpriced too.

play them both. I saw a sweet MIA for about $1100 in a music store in Ottawa Canada a couple of weeks ago. Badass vs. Strings Through? If you need a large mass bridge it's easier in the long run to go MIA...

...That being said, you should play them all before you really decide.

+1 on all counts. The neck is just too thin on the Geddy and I like thinner necks. It just feels like you have little to grab on to. Plus the highway give you more color options.

And yes, way over priced. If you decide on a Geddy, go used all the way!
