hipshot bridge for rickenbacker

I noticed that happening with my E-string and was wondering if I had a bad bridge. I just got my first Ric so I'm still learning about all the little nuances they have. I might have to upgrade the bridge and get once of those new pickup covers.

Geddy's Ricks were modded for a baddass bridge. It's great to see one that's a drop-in.

I heard they don't fit the older ones. I think 70's because the top is arched a little.

I received earlier today the hipshot bridge and installed it.
its looks OK - and the sound is the same.
i just happy to get rid of the mute assembly and be able to put my palm on the bridge when picking and perform palm mute picking.
one thing that upset me is the saddle wobble.
so i rolled three small pieces of duck tape and stuffed them between the saddles to eliminate the wobble.
i thinks its help, at least until i figure out a better solution.
what do you think?
any other, better suggestion?

I'm having mine set up at this moment. Did you end up with an extra bridge screw after install?

I put a brass one on mine and I'll never go back. I found that it improved the sound - not a night and day difference, but it definitely tightened it up.

Of course, the added flexibility for setup is what made me get it in the first place. Not that the bass didn't play well already - I just like the idea of more control. An excellent product that's extremely well made - I recommend it.

Here it is on my '86 4003.

today my friend carved the saddles groves deeper and added groves at the other side of the saddles to eliminate any wobble.
and its ok by now.

I use it too. I finally gave up trying to bend my new 08 unit though, went to the store, and got some wheather striping, installed that over the factory foam to get it to work. I thought, really? It works now but really?
All the older ones I had before worked fine. This is the first "improved" bridge that it would not function no matter what I did.:spit:
