Hofner decision

Trying to decide between getting a Hofner Verythin,President or Club.It would have to be an online purchase due to the fact that none of my local stores carry anything except Violins.Having a hard time deciding.I know the Club would sound fairly similar to my Violin but don't know about the President or Verythin.Both are similar in price as well.Anyone own one of these with any input to give?

Well if they're all CT series, the Club and Verythin will sound very similar due to the solid sound block in both and shared staple pickups. The Prezzy also has the center block, and will sound a bit more mellow (to my ears) due to the black bar pickups and closer-to-center pickup location.

i love my german made club so much and i'd recommend one to anybody, but like you said, it's gonna sound a lot like your beatle bass. if yer looking for a different sound/vibe, go with the president or verythin.

I had a President and it didn't have a center block, it was big and heavy, but looking inside the f holes, I didn't see a block. With that said, I'm a smallish guy. Average build and 5'7. It felt a big big to me so I didn't keep it. It was a lovely bass though. I love the Verithin, sounds similar to the violin, but a very different feel...even with the block, it's very light due to the thin body. YOu can't go wrong regardless of choice.

Fran as we've often said, you never know with Hofner. They like to switch things up sometimes. All CTs ship with rounds and have Contemporary on the TRC right? Well all of them do except the Contemporary Cavern which ships new with Flats and no writing on the TRC. You just never know with Hofner!

I really liked everything about the Verythin I tried. That said, I'd probably be more inclined to get a Guild Starfire if I were in the narket for that sort of vibe.
