Hofner Icon Bass Colors

I was browsing Musician's Friend and I noticed that there are a lot more color options available for the Hofner Icon Bass than just sunburst and black. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find any pictures anywhere of colors other than those.

Anybody got pictures of colors other than sunburst and black?

I played one that was an ugly green and my friend has another which is in white. I like the Contemporary series better in terms of sound and playability.

No pics, but I saw black, blue and red in person. Black is OK, blue & red look cheap. Sunburst still looks best to me.

I don't like Hofners. I don't sound good on them, and I think they play horribly. I don't even bother to check them out when I see them around.

Except yesterday. I pulled down one of those MIC Hofners, and it felt really nice. The neck was very comfortable, unlike all the old ones that have like a 1.25" nut width or something crazy like that. The neck was comfortably sized from front to back and comfortably shaped. Although I was sitting, it felt reasonably comfortable against my body- although that changes when standing. The action was a little lower than I would have liked- but that's more about the shop than it is the bass.

I don't really have GAS regarding these things- but I wouldn't turn one down.

I really like the green one. The pink would be really cool if it was transparent and had black binding.

I would get the sunburst over all of those though.

Violin basses are the ONLY basses that sunburst look good on.

I agree, I am DIGGIN the gold, pink, and white!

I know it is heresy to see the violin bass in any other finish, but I think it is cool, and gives the guitar a different vibe.

There's just something about a pink bass! I play a pink Waterstone Indra I bass, and everyone digs it! Especially women!! No comments from bikers, but they are not the folks I want attention from anyway. And NO "Hello Kitty" emblem on mine!

If you want an early 60s Beatle vibe, you can't really go wrong with the Hofner Icon. A friend just got one, I played it, they're fine for the money. Now I have to decide whether to get one!!
