Hofner Ignition Question

Hey all, just got a used B-Bass Hi-Series Ignition from GC, online...excellent condition, plays and sounds great-I can’t put it down! Any possible way of finding out the manufacture year? I hear the serial# is meaningless…thank you!

Unfortunately no. Hofner only puts serial numbers that relate to the manufacturing date on their German made instruments. Contemporary, Icon and Ignition Series serial numbers don't relate to when the instrument was manufactured.
