Hofner Ignition SE vs Hofner Ignition ?

I noticed that in Europe Thomann now only stocks the Hofner SE Ignition basses as the budget Hofner.
Main difference that I can see over the older Ignition model is the added Hofner logo on the body (which I'm not a big fan of personally) and the teacup knobs

Anyone know if there are any other differences between the 2 models?
Anyone know if the SE is replacing the older Ignition range?

Judging by all the reviews from people who've brought an SE version, who mainly all say they swapped the strings for flats - i'm guessing, like the standard ignition, it comes with rounds.
You’re right. I was thinking about this website I can’t remember that was well known for selling only Hofners and they sold an ignition that they put tea cup knobs and flats on, but it was just a regular ignition.

I just ordered an Ignition Cavern from Thomann and nowhere did anything mention flats. I’m expecting it to arrive Monday with rounds.

Along the same line of thought, has Hofner changed the Ignition control plate? I’m seeing posts about dropping in a German controls plate - and they are a fit for the HCT - but on my Ignition the plate is noticeably bigger, both longer and wider. My Ignition is a few years old. I’ll be interested to compare it to the one on my new Cavern Ignition.

My Cavern Ignition SE from Thomann has arrived. It came with rounds. Why does Hofner even do that?

I already have an older (2013) Ignition. Primary difference I see is the SE comes with a certificate of authenticity that says… “Special Edition Ignition 500/1” on the cover. Inside it is signed and says “Built to the highest standards and hand finished in the Hofner workshops at Baiersforf, Bavaria, Germany.”

Seems perhaps boilerplate text but who knows?

Oh, it also came with a “Bassman” sticker!

That’s nothing to do with the SE. Ignitions for the USA are now being made in Vietnam and have been upgraded with a zero fret, CT tailpiece, reshaped neck and improved finishes . I have two, one is fretless, but I don’t recall them being SEs as the Cavern was that I bought a few years ago.
