I have both...the Rumblekat's body is wider than the Club and the Club bridge is taller than the Rumblekat. I use the same padded and gussetted gig bag for both so I have no idea if the Rumblekat hardcase will fit the Club.
My Rumblekat fits into the epiphone hard case perfectly. I doubt the Hofner would fit as it doesn't have the exact same dimentions, although it's close.
well, it's worth looking into but don't forget the Hofner has the floating bridge so the depth has to be at least 4 in.
Unfortunately the info on MF website as to the depth of the interior of the case seems to be inaccurate. Lists 4-5/8" deep (which should be ok) but lists the outside case depth as 4-5/8" also. I looked around but no retailer has this info, for this case, either. The ability of the case to handle the Hofner bridge would be the deal-killer IMO. A slightly off-spec body contour can be cured with a towel, but depth to accomodate the bridge cannot be changed.
Maybe if someone has an Allen Woody bass, even without the case, they could measure the depth in the bridge area and let you know. If it's close to 4" then the case would accomodate this depth, and you'd be ok...if not...back to square 1...
...I considered buying a Club before buying my Icon Violin bass. As I "always" store and transport in a hsc, this makes me kinda glad I didn't buy a Club...
My Club came with a very nice well padded Hofner gig bag.

The Epi LP case is not deep enough and there was another Douglas (can't remember the model now but it was short inside by 1/2 in. or it would have worked out....
Well, if I don't find one now, I guess I'll have to wait for the Hofner cases to come in at the end of the year and see how much they charge for shipping it to Cda....

That Douglas case BCG200 is for long scale basses so the neck piece will be in the wrong place....that case is also 2 in. too wide....
The Douglas ECG200 for short scale would be perfect if it only just half an inch longer...so no go there either

Only thing to do is wait till US music stores get more HB64 cases for the Club sometime around Xmas and try to get one sent to Cda (by paying twice what the case is worth thanks to duties, shipping, etc).....we have no Hofner distributor in Canada...or at least when I tried to send an email months ago I never got a reply....bad customer service all around from Hofner

ok.....I should measure it......I had taken it for granted that it was 4 in deep by what another TBer had said and never bothered to measure it myself

You may need to alter the pad they have over the bridge a little, but I think it will be a good fit. I checked my club in a Les Paul case that I have and the body fit fine, however the headstock end was a few inches short.
Both my German made Hofner Club bass and Icon Club bass are just over 3" at the bridge.
I have a gig bag (non Hofner) I use for my Icon Club bass. The German bass came with a bullet case, both basses fit.
Still, I wish I had a regular guitar shaped case for my Club basses. I am surprised Hofner did not have case made for the Icon Club basses like the ones for the Icon violin bass. It should cost around $60. I cannot justify paying $150 for a case for a $300 bass.

My BB says B-Bass & Hi-Series on the headstock and had a Indonesia sticker on the back side.Bought it at GC used with not a mark on it with hard case like new also.Paid $260+tax. Have a set of Labelle's for BB's,flats on order for it. .039-.096's
IMO, those La Bella strings are the BEST for these basses! I use those exact ones.
What basic type of pickup comes on the Hofner Ignition? Their spec sheet just says "Hofner Ignition Staple Nickel." What distinguishes this kind of pickup, and how does it differ from a "humbucker"?
These are humbuckers as well. I have an Ignition Club which has the same pickups. For being passive, they are extremely hot and sound great. I have played live and recorded with them. I'm more than happy with them. The 511B's are just fine but will not fit in the Ignition/Icon cut out and to me, as well as these work, I wouldn't spend the money on 511B's, just to say I have the German pickups. The pickup an d mounting ring on the 511B's is completely different.
Thanks, Slick. I asked my luthier shop to balance the pickups when he reset the truss rod (after I changed to heavier LaBellas), and filed down a high fret or two. He says he did that for the pickups, but I don't know enough to notice any difference. I will say that no single string -- or fret -- seems to resonate too loudly, so I guess they're balanced.
