Hofner's for home recording - Ignition good enough?

Heya, I'm looking for a bass for home recording. I'll be recording the bass direct via my uad apollo twin.

Is the Hofner ignition good enough for decent home recording? Or should I be looking at a higher level, ie the artist series etc?

I know it's the cheaply made version, but from my research seems to be well thought of regardless. I won't be knocking it about on tour, but I do want to record at a good quality level.

Can anyone please weigh in on their thoughts on the various Hofner ranges for DI recording, and where the sweet spot of price/quality lies please, thank you!

I'm 'happy' to spend more if needed to get a 'rest of my life' style instrument, but obviously if no need then great. Cheers!

For me personally, the CT model had enough upgrades that I opted to spend the extra for it. Zero fret, bound fingerboard, German pickups, better balance due to the block in the body, ebony bridge... I was fortunate to get a nearly new one here on Talkbass for $200 less than retail. Came with labella flats too. It just feels like quality.
