Hollow or Semihollow 6 string basses ?

How about converting a hollow actual guitar to bass? Strings would still be close but the pups,tuners,bridge and nut would already be the right number.
that could be the easiest way. Acoustic baritone guitar with whatever strings get you there.
There is also a 30" baritone guitar semi-hollow on the rondo site that could work.
You'd have to contact Andrew on that, this was a prototype and an experiment. I'm sure he would have a better idea now knowing what's involved.

Got together with my buddy Mitch today. I shot a little I phone video, the audio is not super but his playing is.
I wouldn't want to do a three hour gig with it but that sounds amazing, killer modern tone!
I was just curious, I'm already having a semi-hollow six-string fretless being built by Tom Clement. But I'll contact Andrew, he could be someone to keep in mind in the future, especially if I want a six-string fretted. I'm definitely moving towards the piezo/mag approach these days, I love the blend. And yes, your bass sounds fantastic, thanks for the clips. Would be cool to hear it DI or with a decent mic.
I did post a soundcloud audio earlier in the thread which is DI through Monique. I am going to do a video review and will be going DI in that as well.
OK, got it. Wow, sounds great, very clear and articulate yet deep tone. Would also sound great as a fretless I would think. Congrats!

This was a fully hollow prototype that unfortunately didn't work out...it was amazing at first!
This is the soon to be finished semi hollow body replacement.
