I thought it was very overrated. For 20 year stuff, I'd expect it to be more smooth. I wouldn't characterize this stuff as "smooth" at all.

Wow. Been a while. Other than adding quite a bit more booze, a larger commercial fridge, and some signs here and there, I haven't done much, other than decorate Uncle Joe (please don't turn it political, I would have done the exact same thing if it were a Trump, or Bush, or Big Bird), and add a custom matching red oak shelf to the wall. Oh and have too many parties.
Noyce! Agreed on the Joe decorations. I wouldn't give a crap who it was. I would be an equal opportunity decorator. (Although, BigBird would look great. And you could make up a different story every time someone asks "Where'd you get that?")

Nice job. Looks real nice. I'm building one out of spalted maple right now. It's going to go outside through a fold up window. It's been a real treat.
I will in a couple of weeks when I get the tops installed. We started with 300 board feet of rough sawn, then planed and edged everything, and then made all of our parts look old again.

Ha! Cute, I have a dozen or so glass swizzle sticks I got from Pier 1 Imports ~30 years ago. The decoration on the end is pink elephants in different poses. IM me with your address; I'll send them to you.That would be a pink elephant.

As nice as your bar turned out, all I can think about is, where did you get that end table? That thing is so cool. Can you take a close up of that for me, please? Do you know who built it?
I got it from Wayfair a few years ago. I love Wayfair! I just looked now and that exact one is no longer available. This one looks pretty much the same, however. It comes in a few size options. Mine is the 20x12 one.

Here are some pics of the bar I've been building. My phone camera is not very representative of the true colors. Pic 1&3 are the closest to the actual colors.
Everything wood is made from solid maple, except for the lower cooler cabinets. I still have a bit to do there. Finishing up some loose ends and the wine racks that will go above the top shelf.
I was thinking of doing something similar with my living room. But with only a single coffee maker.
