I just took some other to my in-laws, now they want more. Gotta build the BBQ drum roaster soon. I have been thinking of maybe doing it as a small business. Sell to a few friends and what not.

A friend used to roast in my office, using a hot air popcorn popper. It was divine.
This just showed up for me! I can't wait to drink some. I had a Hario Skerton hand crank grinder show up too.

Nice! Have you found a roast you prefer?
-Mike
That's a great idea! (In addition to how it makes the best popcorn.)
My grinder is almost dead, I am looking for a conical grinder, any suggestion?
I just finished up a batch of Costa Rican that was fantastic and I have some Australian that is very interesting that I am currently drinking. This Ethiopian will take me quite a while to get finished, but I look forward to experimenting with different roast profiles. This is really the first time that I have bought in a large enough quantity to really get into different profiles with the same bean.
I am using a Capresso Infinity. The first one died after 4 yrs or so - went right out and bought another. Even better than the first (quieter). My grinder is almost dead, I am looking for a conical grinder, any suggestion?

There are lots of reviews on moderately priced conical grinders on Amazon.

Australian? Interesting indeed. I was thinking more along the lines of roasting the same bean a few different ways to unlock some of the favor profiles. Keep me updated how it goes for you with this batch from Ethiopia. I'm far from an expert at roasting, but I am learning fast.
I think we should do a coffee exchange of our home roasted beans among a few of us. Are you game? I am.

Indeed. I am making more and more of that. I even sold a few batches to friends. I picked up a toddy maker from Filtron. Tonight I am doing a batch with some Rwandan beans from Four Barrel.
As far as a roast for espresso, we usually do a second crack, or French roast. I've done the city roast many times and it works for a few of our friends. The wife and I prefer some darker flavors, so we roast on past first crack.
