Home friendly alternative to Ampeg SVT 3 pro?

So my live rig is a Ampeg SVT 3 pro through a 410HE cab, and then a SansAmp BDDI on top of that. I am happy with the tone i get from this setup but due to lack of space and the volume it's not practical to use at home on a regular basis.

I've had a look at the micro VR stack which looks very promising for home use, however £500 seems a little excessive for an amp that's never gonna leave my bedroom.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a home amp that I could get a similar sort of tone out of? The idea would be to use the BDDI to get a similar tone to my Ampeg, I just need a small amp with 1x10" speaker with a clean sound

If you're using the Sansamp....any power amp into a lil speaker (that'll handle bass freqs) should do - as the Sansamp is being your pre amp and giving you that lovely Ampeggy tone.
That said . ...the lil V3 Fender Rumble combos are nice, light and good sounding units at very good prices & again, the SA is giving you the Ampeg tone so you could even bypass the pre amp of the Rumble if so desired

Yeah that's my way of thinking also, the fender looks good but for the same price I could get a Ampeg BA series amp, any experience with those

Alternatively I could find a cheap 1x10/1x12 cab to run the SVT through using a attenuator? Any ideas on 1x10's with 300/400w handling? SVT 3 is 275w through one cab

I've been doing a lot of research lately on bass amps, and I have to say, just get the rumble.

I see ampegs all day long on the used market with broken switches, power cutting out, overheating issues, and blown speakers which in my mind, shouldn't happen on a combo amp. They sound great when they work though

The rumbles otoh are are holding their value ridiculously well for music equipment. They are really lightweight. And the only real sound complaints are a lack of super deep lows that you don't need in a bedroom anyway blowing up the foundation, and a IMO flat tone, which should work great with pedals/sansamp

You DON'T need an attenuator to run the 3pro thru a single 10 or 112, the volume control is already one. just don't turn through master vol up. you can still crank the gain if you so desire , I often run a 500w had thru a single 12". just keep the master volume down. Easy!

What cab are you using for that?

Ampeg SCR-DI and headphones? Works great in hotel rooms...

I have a headphone setup already with the BDDI but it just isn't the same as hearing it outloud!

The 3 pro is twice the size with my 410 cab and I have a space saver staircase for my room so it's a nightmare getting it up and down

BA110 won't blow your head off with volume, but it rocks for bedroom practice and won't break the bank.

I just got a PF-50T recently and was playing it through the One10 last night, at home, after finishing upgrades on a P bass. With flats of course. Upgraded P bass + flats + tube head + Barefaced 10 = nice!

I haven't gigged the PF-50T yet so I can't speak to that just yet, but for what I do -- not overly loud gigs-- I think it'll be fully giggable.

Why not get a 1x10 or 12 and run your 3 pro into it? my bedroom rig is also my live rig so i guess im not really the one to ask about small cabs. my bedroom rig is an svt av into an 8x10 av....

Convert to headphones and you get a lot more options at a reasonable price. I use Jamup and my iPad, or my B3 at home. Good studio headphones are a great alternative to a cab.

It is for home, but my SVT is a 275w head. I can assure you I won't be using all 275w of power

There are no single 10" cabs that can handle 275w, and if they claim they can, they are lying. But if you don't turn them up to where the cab blows, you can use any amp with any cab.
