Hello everyone,
I've been reading through some of the posts in this forum which inspired me to post my question here.
I have a few equipment pieces (for a lack of a better word) that I want to use to start recording both music and voice (as in voice overs / radio dramas) at home.
The trouble is, I am not sure how to best connect / use them all.
I have a Shure SM 57 (I know this one's an instrument mic, but would I be able to use it for vocals, as well?)
Boss GT 6B (I was hoping I can plug the mic in it and use it as a voice mic with the effects the processor offers - possible or not?)
Boss RC-2 loop station (is it possible to layer vocal lines with the Shure SM 57 that I can then send to the Boss GT 6B to add effects to them?)
Steinberg CI 1 USB audio interface (is this desperately outdated? Do I need a new one?)
MXR M87 Bass compressor
M-Audio Oxygen 49 3rd gen MIDI controller (is this also too antique?)
I am hoping that somehow I can use my electric bass and my acoustic guitar (with the mic) to create loops on top of which I can add effects from the processor. Ideally, I would also be able to use to record voice that I can then manipulate with the loop station / effects processor.
I understand I would need software as well, so any suggestions are much appreciated.
Thank you in advance!
Ognen
