Honest Opinion

hey guys. Im the bassist for the bank MuRdoK. It seems like we have a good potential and always get a couple new fans at shows but really lack the support I think we should be getting. I got a copy of the recordings of a show we did at a place called Gasoline Alley and posted them up on myspace. If you guys don't mind checking it out and tell me what you think of our sound. Whats lacking, whats bad, whats good? I really appreciate it. our page is myspace.com/murdoktheband

hello from a fellow bay area-er. IMO your band sounds good. Nice rhythm section stuff. Honestly that style is not my cup of tea, but the band sounds great. Unfortunately you are in Tampa and getting support for original music is like pulling teeth. Try to look around at other bands i.e., rebbekah pulley and see what they have done to maintain a descent following. It may take a few years to get something consistent happening. Or leave tampa, that is what a lot of bands do.
On a side note, and believe me, I am no expert on hip. I am not sure if that style of music is as popular as it once was back in the RATM days. I could be wrong, and I am certainly not saying to go the way of the Gaga. Also try St. Pete, there are a few metal friendly bars there. Good luck and I will look out for your band.

Thanx man! I appreciate that. This band has been together since 2005 and actually won that BoDog Poker battle of the bands or what not years ago. but i've only been in it since Jan this year. The band has played State Theater and we are locals at Pegasus Lounge in tampa and Mojo's in Lakeland. But i'm looking to get on tour with like GWAR or Hed P.E. They always have a bunch of ok metal bands opening up for them. Nothing spectacular and I just keep wondering what is holding us back when we(my thoughts here anyways) have so much more talent then them
