Honor System based Poll!

If you live in a pretty big city, there's going to be at least 5 players who are the first-call guys who get all the cool gigs, do the bulk of the notable studio work, maybe tour with name artists, and are always playing and pretty much playing electric bass for a living.

If you know who these players are in your locale, I'm not asking for names or even the city, but rather what brand/type bass they usually play. I mentioned the honor system thing because anybody can list anything, factual or not, but honest answers can make for the most informative results.

Kinda of a small market, but the guy who seems to work the most in the circles I see uses an old pre EB StingRay. Other than that guy, and two double bassists, there's not anything like the "A Team" of players to make any judgement from.

2. Pedulla five-string (B-G and one E-C)

Beats me. I see all kinds of bass guitars on stage. Mostly Fender or Fender clones, but everything else manufactured turns up. I don't remember ever seeing anything obviously boutique. In the studio? Dunno.

I'll be honest, I have no idea who #2-5 are much less what model bass they play. But #1 is definitely weilding a 4-string Sadowsky for 90% of his gigs.

I can only think of one guy locally, and he plays a 74-76 natural P w/ maple board for the most part.

The 4 that I know of use Muckelroy and one of them also uses a Sadowsky.
