So modern bands from any genre? Here's a list I've been listening to in no particular order.

Too bad about the computer part, because the late 10s saw an explosion in Darkwave/Horrorwave artists that I really enjoy. Gnarly sounds. Some of them even have their artists' roots in stuff like black metal. It's like the soundtrack to your favorite gritty 80s cult classics all over again.
On the other hand, I really dig modern Japanese jazz fusion (or what passes as such?), like ADAM at or Gecko & Tokage Parade. I think they have a certain Spyro Gyra thing going on.
I could say Baby Metal or One Direction with a smirk and walk outta here....
But nah,
Larkin Poe. These gals are legit and have crazy good harmonies. Their covers are pretty damn good but their originals are even better.
Stick Figure started in 06 or 07 but I would suggest they didn't get any traction until the 10's on. Super chill super groovy and true to it's roots.
Tedeschi Trucks Band. Grow up as a blues phenom. Marry a hot gal who's a beast in her own right. Form a band. Done and done.
Toothgrinder. If you don't know, now you know.
Vein. Not my cup of tea but if I know of them they must have done something right. I'm old
Alabama Shakes were pretty cool. I think they broke up though.
Haim. Why? Because EPIC BASS FACE!!!! That's why. Oh, and they are damn good at pop tunes.

Hmm... I'll be the first to admit that 2010-2020 is probably the decade I am least familar with music-wise, but still there have been a few stand-out bands for me:

- The Pineapple Thief (they formed in 1999, but didn't seem to get momentum until after 2008, so I guess they qualify?)
- Battles (similar to above chronologically: they got started in '02, but have been quite active between '10 and '20)

Lots of interesting suggestions here, I'm going to investigate. My contribution is Carseat Headrest...
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard: Ridiculously prolific. Each album sounds a bit different, and nearly all of them are well-executed.
Tropical F*** Storm: Stylistically droning, pessimistic, but very funny and creative, mishmosh of psych rock and post punk.
The Elite Beat: Minimalist instrumental dub and Afrobeat tunes.
Mannequin Pu**y: They started out as a terrifying (in a good way) minimalist pop-punk rock band (but not the usual combinations of the pop and punk) and veered into poppier, territory.
Mdou Moctar: Psychedelic, bluesy-sounding Tuareg music from the Sahara desert.
Amyl and the Sniffers: Well written-and performed pun krock from the continent that still remembers how to rock.
