Hope to be a newbie from NV

After giving up drums about 10 years ago due to a bad lower back and a bad knee, both keep me from sitting and playing drums without pain. I wanted to give the bass guitar a try for years.
I finally bought a Fender standard P bass and a peavy amp. Its been really trying on me to learn something new, and trying to get these 50 year old fingers to go where i want them has been a challenge. Figured I would come here and see what I could learn. Hope I can pick up some pointers and eventually beable to help others in time.

If we take it one step at a time it all falls into place. So....

You know your A, B, C's and I bet you can count to eight. If you can chew gum and read a book at the same time you can play bass guitar. The getting started sticky in the General Instruction section will go into detail.... How to get started? Questions, just ask. Someone will jump on it.

Im working on it, im also trying to locate a good instructor. I will check out the getting started threads. Thanks for the incouragement. Sometimes it just takes someone to nudge a person on alittle to move them along.
