Halloween, Hellraiser, Dawn of the Dead, day of the Dead, Cannibal Holocaust, maniac, and of course the exorcist

anyways recommend some movies please

There was an old movie from the late 70's/early 80's called 'Zombie'. It was an Italian film I think- but it was pretty nasty, and plenty scary compared to the Romero films. Ive seen it on dvd a few times. i would also include the first Friday the 13th. And maybe the Omen. Texas chainsaw massacre for sure!

All the aforementioned films are the originals, of course

Any of the italian B rated stuff. The Zombie collection. Pretty much anything by Lucio Fulci, Dario Argento and the other "big names".

Some must haves include: Demons 1 and 2, Opera (must see, but terrible).

Personal favourite of mine is Burial Ground by Andrea Bianchi especially because of Peter Bark and the end scene.

Other than that, in the realm of brutal. You have big cult favourites like "120 Days of Sodom" and "Guinea Pig 2 the flower of flesh and blood".

I hope it's not against the rules to just mention those movies, some of them are REALLY really intense. 120 days of sodom features an entire "chapter" of forced coprophagia. Horror movies rule.

That's not exactly horror, but i see your point.

I think the asian films are generally more scary? I don't watch a lot of horror, though.

"Seven" and "The Silence Of The Lambs" aren't exactly "horror" films, but I think they qualify in a list of "discomforting" movies.

Anything that Rob Zombie's been doing's turned out usually very close to the classics (In a few cases he's hired the same actors as the original films he's clearly basing his ideas on).

And I've noticed a distinct lack of chainsaws massacring in your list of films.
