I do like Fulci's Zombi, and I agree that the zombies did look better. However, given the sheer number of zombies in Romero's films I'm willing to overlook the makeup quality if it wasn't quite up to par. It could also be that I'm a Tom Savini fanboy. Fulci did have one major thing going for him though: zombie vs. shark!

No doubt about that! Too bad the shark didn't have a lazer.

I am a big Savini fan as well. Did you see the Night of the Living Dead remake from 1990? One of my favorite horror movies. I might like it even more than the original.

I am a big Savini fan as well. Did you see the Night of the Living Dead remake from 1990? One of my favorite horror movies. I might like it even more than the original.

Have seen it, own it, and I really like how Savini and co. turned the Barbara role around. As a side note, I just literally bought a 2 vhs tape set (yes, vhs) of the original NotLD from a friend of mine. When I say "just", I mean 30 minutes ago. I bought it from him as a collector's item for myself. I'll probably never watch it.

Anyone heard about this movie "Martyrs" coming out?

I read a blurb on Fangoria about it, they claim this is THE one to see....

It does sound good, and given that French horror hasn't let me down yet I'll be checking this out. Even Frontier(s) wasn't that bad.

speaking of French horror...ever see Inside....brutal....very very brutal. Also Them is good...very tense.

Pretty good list. I am surprised by the Driller Killer though. I also couldn't really get into Last House on the Left. I'll have to rewatch both of those because I never gave them much credit.

I agree they did a really good job with that one. I actually work with a real life "Mr. Cooper" so I relish every time I see the end of that movie.

the driller killer is just funny to me, and a perfect b movie. last house.....just vicious. i only like gore movies if they are extreme....like Inside.

also i cant believe I left out the Omen.

I would like to see David Lynch's take on horror. Eraserhead is freaky but he never made a straight up horror.

ya think so? i mean its DUMB dont get me wrong, but I like the idea of it. and its a great "get my friends out of the apt." movie. i dont think it tries to be campy but is is stupid in a good way. anywho....

Big fan here. Ill put out a vote for Phantasm, which i dont think anyone has mentioned yet.

Good call on that one, it just sucks how confusing it gets later on.
and +1 on zombie (how could I forget about that one and I own the dvd :scowl

I like all of the George Romero zombie movies except Day of the Dead.

Saw 1 and 2 are pretty good.

I thought Diary of the Dead was pretty awful myself. Anyone see the Day of the Dead remake with Mena Suvari? It wasn't too bad.

But don't like any of the recent remakes except the Texas chainsaw Massacre(but not really the beginning).
