While Jack and Phil Lesh both had "Alembicizing" Gulid basses the bass Jack is playing in that video is the first completely built Alembic bass, Number 1.

That’s a really great version, thanks for posting. I’m currently working up a new arrangement on acoustic guitar, working in some tricks from various online tutorials from Jorma.

I'm just getting back into playing after a pretty major health setback two months ago, but I'll be happy to post it when I get it to acceptable.

I've been playing it on bass for over 50 years, including on quite a few gigs and a zillion open mics. But singing it and doing justice on acoustic guitar is a whole different can 'o worms, especially the singing part. I just decided last year to actually work on legit lead vocals for cover tunes, something I never felt any compulsion to pursue previously. Taking that on along with getting up to speed on my first acoustic guitar has been quite the adventure!
