Houseboat...?

So, not funny yet, and I hope it stays that way.

My band got asked to play on a houseboat for a small party-- friend of our guitarist. Not a hundred percent sure if We're going to be on the boat playing towards the beach, towards other boats, or if we are on the beach playing towards the boats. I'm a little concerned about clean power, but the owner works with generators and power so he should know what he's doing. I don't know whether to bring my good rig (600w) or my more expendable rig with less power (200w).

No experience with that but it sounds like it could be a fun gig.

No experience with that kin of thing, but really look forward to the gig report. I imagine there will be obstacles to overcome, beautiful scenery and a unique stage set up. Have fun. And if it were me, I'd bring the cheapest gear that will service the gig.

We did one of these. It was fun until the host took over the mic and talked about Rugby all night -yawn.
make sure you got some power outlets and strips!

Played indoors for reception like above photo, also played on top deck which was much nicer and it was the 4th of July

any rig will work fine on generator power. done it many times and never experienced an issue. Plus, if you're on the boat, marine generators are usually very good units so I wouldn't worry. But I would take my road worn P instead of my Sadowsky P...just because it's a water proximity gig.
