How about an Adamovic club?

Hey all, I’m looking for a great sounding jazz type instrument, and there are two basses I’m looking at: an Adamovic Soul 5, and a Fender custom Classic Jazz V.

I’m sure the Soul wins on ergonomics, but what about sound,especially for heavy rock or dirty funk? The Soul is more refined, but can it get as greasy/nasty as the Fender? Refined is great, but I want it to have some angry attitude too (when needed).

Your biased and unbiased opinions are welcomed.

I have a Soul 5. It is excellent. Top shelf build quality and ergonomics. Tonally it is aggressive with lots of mid range growl and top end.

Mine has a Pope 4 band preamp so i can’t comment on the Soul with a Noll or Glockenklang. It has Adamovic strings which i believe are made by SIT.

I have owned many j type basses (fender, alleva, fodera, fbass, etc) and the Soul has the biggest voice. I have neither owned nor played a Fender custom classic 5 so can’t comment on that particular model.

Ok, so I got a used Soul in great condition, it’s this one:

And of course it rocks. Plays so easily and sounds great. It currently has DR Pure Blues strings on it, which I’m not a huge fan of, I like more of a low mid bump. So I could put Low Riders on it, but I’m thinking about Cobalt Flats (now called Slinky Flats). Any thoughts on how those will work on it? It seems like a good bass for that, but they are $60 a set so I thought I’d ask first. I haven’t tried Adamovic strings, what are those like?

nice score! That was the first Adamovic I ever saw, it was featured on the bass the world YouTube video.

I’m looking for a trade . Anybody interested in brand new Marleaux contra 5 for an Adamovic. No bolt on necks . And no 4 strings but looking for 5 and 6 strings . My bass is in the classifieds . I would love a fbc that he made or an eclipse . Halo , super nova , katana , dark , light lol or know of someone who wants to buy the contra ? It’s at an amazing price right now . My goal is to get an Adamovic . Just thought I would put it out there on here
