How can I clear up this tone

Playing a Dingwall Z3 6-string and trying to make it sound like a nasty rhythm guitar. I'm not really satisfied with the current sound as it is a bit too bright on the bottom string. I'm running it into a QuadCortex through a guitar preset.
I am looking for any idea that could help me tame the low end a bit, so that the notes can be heard more clearly.
And I apologize for this messy recording .

Do you have the ability to split the signal path or run a cross over so that the lows dont become as distorted.

I've tried splitting the signal path once but it became a hot mess. I guess I'll give that one more go.
Not sure under what a neural capture falls under but yes(?), a fortin nameless guitar amp.

I think part of the issue is there's a lot of gain and drive in there. Maybe trying less gain would possibly get some of the mud out. The other thing that could work is to cut a little bit of low frequency or less boost of it's past the neutral spot. Once you go down past a certain frequency it starts to really mud over the overall tone. I've always used my low or bass settings sparingly because of that and rely on especially low mids to hold the fundamental down and create that heavy punch we all love. I'd like to see a pic of your EQ settings and see where you have it all set.

You probably already tried this, but once you have the HPF in place you should be able to boost the lows on the amp a bit.

By taming I meant the distortion. Something like a microtubes x pedal.
