How Do Bass Trades Work on Talkbass?

I might be trading my bass but was wondering how exactly does it work? Do you send your bass first and the other person sends their bass? Do you need to write up a contract? Essentially, how do you protect yourself in this type of deal? In the past I have just dealt with cash (Paypal).

I just looked at feedback and went for it, communication is key. Ask questions and make sure each item is going to a verified address. Any of the trades I've done here have been stellar.

Thanks! So you just send your bass and the other person sends their bass and it all works out in the end? I guess you pay for your own shipping to the other person.

Pretty much, just communicate, agree to terms and have plenty of pics sent both ways, point out or ask as many questions as you like. It's all part of the deal

Assurance meaning any monetary. Of course there is the communication etc. I guess you just got to have faith.

Usually when items get sent the same day and tracking numbers are provide then you're almost half way there!
