How do extreme temperatures affect speakers?

The larger the driver the greater the likely hood of it being affected by absorbtion of moisture. The cone excursion on low frequency units is greater than that of say a lead guitar driver. Most LF drivers, in fact most general music instrument drivers are treated against moisture impregnation.
The key here is gentle aclimatisation to the differing environment. NEVER play a damp bass driver.
The input energy could affect the curvilinear paper shape and then that's it distortion forever!
