I've heard of such people, and they aren't highly regarded here in Philly!

When my daughters come home from summer camp or college, the
first place they want to go is Wawa, and other Philly kids are the same. They find all other convenience stores completely inadequate. I think it's hilarious.
Over the years, I've learned more and more about what I like sonically and ergonomically, and have bought basses with more thought and purpose. This has led me to focus on J-basses and G&L basses with MFD pickups, including an SB-2 to check the P-bass box. For four-stringers, I've been set for ten years. I've found what works, and have had virtually no four-string GAS.
So the last two basses I've bought have been fives, each for a fairly specific reason. I got my G&L M-2500 for a musical theater project that required a five with excellent playability (for me), and a used empress-bodied G&L JB-5 to have a lightweight passive five with more old-school tone to complement/back up the M-2500.
