Whether you know it or not, you just painted yourself into an awful corner. Good luck with that.I've told the lads to be prepared for a change in how we pay on our big gigs. .
One of my previous female singers once commented that without her there'd be no show. I said well without us driving, unloading, setting up and soundchecking there'd be no show. You could still sing of course, into your hairbrush and your mirror. We could also play blues all night without a singer too. She never brought it up again.Equal pay, if you feel that he's the stand out then everyone else should up their game and make the band even better. If he formed the band, then he would justifiably get a large cut. Without a band, he's just a singer with a karaoke machine. He may get more attention, but it's still a team effort.

The issue lays in somehow quantifying the band member contribution. I believe the quote is "you can't manage what you can't measure." If you have a fair system for measuring this sort of thing, have at it, but i can't imagine you do or anyone else does. You would have to have the whole band agree to a set of metrics that determine pay, then have a way to accurately report those metrics which translates to amount paid. I think your intentions are good, but in this case the details likely wont work out.
IMO, if your singer's only singing & not helping with anything else, her pay should get docked (or she should be docked)One of my previous female singers once commented that without her there'd be no show. I shouldn't be surprised by your responses as I've been the 'equal share' guy for as long as I've been playing in bands, but this is the first time I can honestly say that one band member is carrying 50% of the band's value.
Gavin Rossdale on Howard Stern. You can bet your ass he doesn't do that anymore since none of the members of Bush now were there when he started.I dont know...I was just listening to an interview with a well known rock front man, and the interviewer asked that since he is the draw, how did they split the money. The guy said its split equally or it creates an issue. I would say equal.
Not gonna disagree but her and the BL are a couple and you know how that goes...IMO, if your singer's only singing & not helping with anything else, her pay should get docked (or she should be docked)![]()
