Oh, I know that very well actually. I learned my lesson after I got lost at the dark side... of the moon.

It wasn't that hard when I first started. I shaked a little, then rubbed a bit, threw in a pinch of slippery german laundry detergant. Perfect cockTail! Then things got a lot harder. However, I found my way out and learned to control "the force".

Now I can literally power up anything with the force, I don't even use a power supply for the pedalboard.

Simplest answer: I use regulated force supply.

May I suggest a hamster wheel device? I installed one on my bass and it works like a charm. The hamster needs to be replaced every four years or so though. Here's a little pic of mine;

Jaco was passive. I found the a small salamander and some lighter fluid worked for a more "P" sound though, but I think a vole will get you more growl.
