Double Bass How Do You Pronounce it?

Whenever I talk to someone about a string purchase I want to make I'm always a little timid to ask because I never know how to pronounce the names. What are some commonly mispronounced string names and how do you correctly pronounce them?
Is it:
SpEEro-core or SpEYEro-core?
AYvah or EEvah?
AHliv or OHliv?
Those probably aren't the best phonetic spellings, but I think you get the picture. Thanks for the help in my quest to not alway seem like a total noob when I'm talking gear to others.

They ran ads in Guitar Player magazine many years ago, in order to help people pronounce it correctly. It was a picture of one of their string packages, and on top of the ad was one phrase; "Hi-ho".

I had an argument with a guy about Epifani, eh pi Faa knee i think is how they pronounce it, he was saying that it was pronouce. eh pif fan knee. So i called epifani and then hung up after i heard them pronounce the name haha!!! sorry Epifani!!!

if you want to get into it, the " D' " infers that that person is from the place. So Simon D'Addario would technically mean Simon of Addario. the " D' " is the vowel form of "de" or "du" , and as a result, when shortened with the apostrophe, it is no longer considered important enough to get its own syllable.

this isn't entirely accurate, but it's how I look at it.
