How do you pronounce "Yseult" ?

Proper French pronunciation would be "ee-zoh" with a rounding of the lips at the end (a little different from how most North Americans would probably pronounce "oh". Having said that, a lot of French names aren't pronounced the way they "ought to be" in non-French speaking parts of North America.

It's an old medieval name, as in Tristan and Iseult. Also appears spelled "Isolde," especially in Germanic-language versions (i.e. Wagner). You want to hint at the ending "t" without completely pronouncing it, ee-SOUL(t). (the way a lot of people say "hint" or "built" without really enunciating the t, it affects the ending sound even though it's not actually spoken).

The way I see it, the name "Yseult" would be pronounced differently from "Isolde". The origin of both names is the same, but that doesn't mean you would pronounce them the same way (no more than you would pronounce "Peter" the same way as "Pierre" or "Piotr").

Amen!
