If I can, I pull up as close to the door as possible then unload the amp and cable bags, then come back and get the upright, then park. Loading out is the reverse: bass first, then amp/bags. My logic is if someone is going to try to steal something, it'll be harder to get the bass out of the car than it is to grab a bag and run.

If I can't do that, I use a cart.

Sound thinking. Years ago when I was younger and dumber, I stopped at a taqueria after a gig. I came back to a broken window and someone zooming off with my amp, cab, and other cables and accessories. The bass was right where I left it; they didn't know what to do with it or how to get it in their car. It's still my main player today. I'm glad it was spared.

I still think the MB150 is the deal for upright gigs; even if GK has somehow decided to discontinue it. My vote is GK MB150 with a shoulder bag; though I tend to just carry mine in the free hand.

Funny thing about the GK MBS/MBE 150’s predecessor. The 200MB. Gallen Krueger offered a padded shoulder bag for that amp and I had one. It was actually a infant’s diaper bag that GK bought in bulk and had their logo embossed on the front. . Unfortunately the little torrodial transformer that was mounted to the bottom of the speaker cabinet. Even with the padded bag, if it slipped of your shoulder and hit a hard surface (i.e asphalt or concrete) it could damage the unit.

I’m answering as if I’m using my upright. It’ll always be at least 2 trips if by myself. I also have my music stand and IPad. My amp is usually my trusty AI
Corus R and I schlep everything with a little Magna cart foldable hand trucks. Double park? Whenever I can get away with it, oh yes!

I can do it in one trip, but I usually take two trips.

For the one-trip version:

Bass on back, amp and cable bag on folding two wheeler, music stand and small items in other hand. Opening doors can be a pain. Also have to bow deeply to the gods of upright bass to fit the bass on my back through a standard door.

For the two-trip version, I take the bass in one trip and the rest of the stuff on my folding two wheeler in the other.

I am pretty much never without my folding two wheeler. It has a place bungeed up against the side of the bed of the truck. I have to use a small piece of 1/4" plywood to extend its bed a bit due to the configuration of my AI Contra 1 amp.
