How do you store your basses?

My curiosity has gotten the better of me. I'm curious how you generally store your basses when not in use. Check all that apply and explain below.

Wall Hanger, I see it / I play it.

In case, I guess I'm lazy so it stays there unplayed.

Right now, in cases/gig bags under the bed because I have no space in my “temporary” apartment to put up stands and/or wall hangers…

All of the above. Right now my bass is wedged in between 2 enormous bags of clothes my good lady is doing something though. This is new.


Her wardrobe is taking over my office.

of 7, at any given time = 2-3 on stands beside me, 2-3-4 on the wall, 1-2 in a gigbag. i have moments of having a favorite and then another one calls....

1 in a HSC, 3 in gigbags, and 6 on wall hangers. I have a hanger stand on standby for putting down one between practices, which previously was a resting place for the #11 which have been sold.

I'd put mine all on wall hangers if I had the space on my office wall. I'm with @Jebberz, I'm motivated to play as I see them often and they are within my reach. The ones in cases rarely get playtime.

Stands. Have 2 and keep both out. Occasionally in gig bag hanging in closet if having company over that I don't trust to not touch them.

[Killing Floor]

Wake up, it’s on the wall hook or in a case. Grab it and until sleepy time or gig it’s leaning against the wall or in a chair or I’ll pull open a drawer an inch or so to make a corner to lean it. Thanks to gravity I don’t have to worry. At a rehearsal or gig I’d use a stand but I never use stands at home usually. On the very rare occasion a bass falls over it’s a thing and I’m a human and my domain is not surrendered to a thing.

I'm all of the above. Some hang, some in case, on stands, leaning in a corner, laying on the couch. They all get moved around and played often I just try to keep em near where in playing and make sure they don't fall over.

Cases live in the bedroom. When basses are in them the muffled sounds of their crying keeps me awake, so they live on stands and I just sort of live around them.

I hang them on the wall, as if I see them, I pick which one to play, and go.

Hangers also free up valuable floor space.

I keep a stand around for my new #4 as well.

As a part of his duties , my man servant Mr. Butler ( yes ) polishes my basses , cleans the strings and puts the basses away in Rolls Royce gig bags and makes me a cup of Earl Grey Tea with scones .
